Dear Indivisible Members,
Thanks to all who attended One Million Rising's kickoff session, Good Trouble and our Member Potluck Picnic last week! It was great to come together in community in person and online. There's still much to do this summer, so we looking forward to seeing you at the opportunities below!
Events THIS Week:
One Million Rising Trainings
Important! One Million Rising Part 2 is THIS Wednesday
Wednesday, July 30th- One Million Rising trainings mark a major shift in Indivisible tactics, so please join us as we continue the effort to train one million people in the strategic logic and practice of non-cooperation, as well as the basics of community organizing and campaign design. This is how we build people power that can’t be ignored. You’re invited to join in—and lead. Sign up HERE to attend this virtual event.
No worries if you missed the first session on July 16th- you can view a recording of it HERE.
Next month, on August 13th, we will screen the final session at our In-Person Member Meeting. You can sign up HERE to attend.
Join our Immigrant Rights Protection Team
Join our group's Immigrant Rights Protection Team to support our immigrant neighbors. Thousands of immigrants in the U.S. are being snatched off the streets, from their homes or at their workplaces every day, and most of them are otherwise law-abiding people who have been here for years and are working, raising families and contributing to our society. And it’s only going to get worse as ICE rapidly builds up its force of masked goons.
Indivisible West Suburban Chicago wants to fight back, and we’re grateful for your interest. We eventually hope to form or become part of a Rapid Response Team that would respond to ICE sightings, canvass our communities to share Know Your Rights information and undertake other activities.
To start, we will email you some current opportunities to get involved. Some are virtual trainings or other actions accessible to most volunteers. Others are most appropriate for volunteers who live or work in certain areas where ICE activity is most expected.
Postcard Parties
Join us this week on Monday, July 28th at 10AM to write postcards in Western Springs.
Join us Tuesday, August 5th at 7PM to write postcards in Brookfield.
Join us Thursday, August 21st at 7PM to write postcards in LaGrange Park.
Phone Bank for Medicaid
THIS Sunday, July 27th at 4PM. Indivisible Illinois still needs our help to call voters in these 3 Republican congressional districts in Illinois to let them know that their GOP congressperson voted to make deep cuts to Medicaid, and what that would mean for them and their communities. These congresspeople are: Mike Bost (IL-12), Mary Miller (IL-15) and Darin LaHood (IL-16). You do not have to be an Illinoisan to participate, and if you have never phone banked before no problem, they will train. You will need both a phone and a computer for this phone bank. Sign up HERE to join in!

Adopt a Local Board
Local government is crucial to our daily lives and immediate communities. We need folks who are willing to attend local meetings of Village Trustees, School Boards, Library Boards and so on, and keep our elected officials committee up to date on what's going on at the most local level, and hold our elected officials accountable. Sign up HERE to help!
We will also have a Zoom Meeting for folks interested in helping with this effort on Wednesday, June 18th at 7PM. If you would like to join this call to learn more you can email Abby at abbyindivisible@gmail.com.
Take Action- Texting Team
Our group will be piloting the use of texting to our members when a rapid response is needed for legislation, witness slips, protests, and any other immediate actions. Some of you may have volunteered for texting programs during the recent elections. If you would be interested in being a part of this effort, either helping to organize or in sending and moderating texts, email Jeanette at jiq@valeko.com for further information.
Project 2025 Tracker
The group Red Wine and Blue has created a Reality of Project 2025 website – a resource which not only explains how extremists are implementing this plan, but what we can do to stop it. We wanted to share this site to educate ourselves and continuously monitor this. You can check out the website here
